Funemployment #1: October

Hi. I will fill this blog with things I do when I am (f)unemployed. It had been a month since I left my last job at the end of September. In my humble opinion, I had done faeda things to fill my days with. And on this month, I was grateful I did not have full-time job because I had to do things that required my full attention and time. Without writing more craps, here is the recap of my first month as a (f)unemployment.

First Week
On the beginning of the month, I still felt sad yet relieved. Sad because I really left them, my first official job and company. Sometimes, I still opened its website and checked job postings there. I was also happy when I saw companies I acquired still posting their job there. That's the dark side. The light side was, I got three job appointments: one technical test and two interviews. On the first Monday of the month, I had an interview at a multinational pharmaceutical company. Wow. I applied as a Digital Administrative Intern because I saw the job deals with translation. One bad thing happened that day was, I got there in time because the Uber I ride was dumb. I was his second passenger, and his *cough* sucks *cough* navigation skill added with heavy traffic jam I never expected in Casablanca made me arrive in time. Thankfully, the interview had not started yet. I did the interview with ease. The interviewers were very friendly. However, through the interview, I understood that the job was not mainly in translation, but more to administrative skills. Hmm... that is why I never follow up the interview until now haha.
The second job-related appointments I got was on Wednesday. I had a technical test in a big four accounting firm in Kuningan. FYI, I applied for that position one year ago, right after graduation. Wow I just did not expect they still noticed me. I never knew they would call me so fast because in my plan, I would like to have more experiences in translation before that firm called me. The test was quite hard, tho. After the test, I just left it to Allah for the result. Unexpectedly, several hours later, I got an e-mail, saying I passed the test and could come on Friday for the interview. AAAAAAKKKK. My heart thumped reading that. The email also said I had too wear formal business attire. I googled it, and it showed me pictures of women in jacket, shirt, pants, and high-heels. I tried to find the jacket and I messaged people who I thought they had one. On the next day, I met two friends and borrowed jackets from them, and also bought a new pair of pants haha. I was so nervous, anticipating the next day. The next day, I arrived 30 minutes before the interview. After waited a little longer, I finally met the interviewers and started the interview. It was fun, actually. I could gain a deeper insight of what translators do in their department. After it finished, I did Ashar prayer and left the rest again to Allah. My goal after an interview or any job-related attempt is not regret at all. At that time, to be honest, I regretted quite a lot things because I forgot many things to ask and to show. Huhuhuhuhu.
Also on that week, I had a translation freelance project and finished it on time on Sunday.
It was the most accelerated week for me in my whole life as a funemployment haha.

Second Week
I applied for Civil Servant Selection (CPNS) hahahahaha. So that week, I started to prepare things for the test. I joined Telegram channels to learn the materials and also Telegram groups to update things regarding CPNS. The first time I knew the materials, I was overwhelmed. It was a lot! And all of them are things that I never put my interest to, such as history and civic, subjects I learnt at school merely just to pass monthly test haha. I studied with Muthiah and Timun who also fought for CPNS. We exchanged material sources, applications, tryout websites, knowledge, and many more. The group study was very helpful!
I also did my first Populix job that week.

Third Week
I got more intense with studying for CPNS. I wrote pages of summary of the materials. What took me the most effort is summary of UUD 1945 (Indonesia Constitution). It had 37 articles and it took me hours to complete. However, after I finished the summary, I feel satisfied. And it was very helpful for me to memorize the big picture of those 37 articles.
On Telegram group, people who already did the test gave their reports, saying that the questions were unpredictable. Wow wow. I got more nervous hahaha. In addition, I also knew that there were 884 people fought for 2 positions in Ministry of Finance, including me. We applied for Book Editor position, and FYI, it was the position with the tightest competition! Woo-hoo.
Ah ya, starting from this Sunday, I uninstalled Instagram :x because it was my biggest distraction in studying!

Fourth Week
Show time! Several days before the test, I did review and review again.
The D-Day came. Well you can read the details here actually haha.
I did not regret at all!
Yeay!
For the rest of the week, I chilled down. Sleeping almost all day, watching films, and did not apply for jobs haha. I thought I deserved it after the long fight.
On the weekend, it was a weekend full of babies -_- on Saturday, I visited Lissa who had our first baby BC :") on Sunday, I met Nahda, Dyah's baby who is our first Mislead baby :")
Highlight of the last day of October is:
I did not pass the CPNS. Wooof... The lowest score of those who pass is 371, only 3 points from mine. It didn't hurt, tho. I left the rest to Allah, and I ask Allah to guide me to the best career :")

How next month will be?
Let's see.
